Harkishan Parmar

Harkishan Parmar is a WORLD MUSIC MUSICIAN, who has studied extensively under a disciple of Ravi Shankar. He has also worked on BBC Television documentary with Imrat and Nishat Khan (family of legendary sitarist Vilayat Khan).

Performances include Radio and Television - both Local & National, outdoor festivals and concerts. He has presented workshops and seminars in educational establishments, community organisations and other settings.

Innovation and improvisation are important developmental themes in the music created by Harkishan. His beliefs of Art and Culture as dynamic representations of the past, present and the future drive him to creativity through experimental interaction.

Health, movement & meditation are areas of special interest within his musical sphere. He has worked within schools, groups of elderly, special needs and visually impaired clients. By drawing upon the positive energies of different types of music from around the world Harkishan expresses a unique style of music that leads towards a new age harmony for all special occasions.

Harkishan also offers workshops in MUSIC & MOVEMENT as well as MUSIC & MEDITATION. These interactive sessions use GLOBAL MUSIC with POETRY, PROSE and STORYTELLING. The sessions are for all abilities, ages and backgrounds.
